Paired with my addiction

Over the last few weeks I've turned a guilty pleasure into a hopeless addiction. In an effort to overcome my long days and unreasonably late nights working I've usurped the needed energy I get from my favorite drink Dr. Pepper. My husband is not a big fan of me consuming large quantities of the toxic waste but I continue to reassure him "it's just for now". I agree with him that the dr. has undesirable side effects and is impartial to my health but I can't help it... at least not for now ;)

Sooo, I make a Circle-K run once a day, sometimes two if I am particularly feeble that day. The husband frowns when he sees my 44oz cups collecting in the corners of my studio, I frown too because I agree it's bad. One day like many other days I proceeded to the inglorious fountain drink dispenser in the back of the Circle-K that I resent so much. I began to concoct my usual mixture of crushed ice and then half and half of regular and diet Dr. Pepper. There was a gathering of pubescent young boys I had previously seen walking in the unrelenting heat from the high school by my house. They were combining all of their money to account for how they would pay for their much "needed" refreshments. I went to the counter to pay for my toxins and without thinking I blurt "I want to pay for their drinks as well" pointing to the boys. She looked at me confused so trying not to draw attention I repeat myself quietly while leaning into the clerk. I began to shake as the adrenaline of getting caught crept up on me and the clerk took my money. I grabbed my things and of course my towering drink and hauled booty to my car and tried to escape unnoticed. 6 kids ran out of the store yelling "THANK YOU!!!!" in time for me to squeal out of the parking lot (my tires didn't squeal, I just added that for drama)! I smiled the rest of the way home, what a rush!!! (You probably didn't know that I live on the edge but I'm Bad-A guys!) Anyways, I noticed my Dr. Pepper was noticeably more satisfying and my usual guilt was absent from my mind that day.

In preparation for my RAOK Birthday I have turned that little escapade into a counter acting habit for my DP addiction. Construction workers, a mother of 3, some guy on his iPhone, a bus full of nuns... (jk, I'm not rich and I've never seen a nun before, but that would be so cool!) whomever it may be at the dispenser in the back of the store. Sometimes no one is in line behind me to play my victim but it's ok, I'll get one next time. And so, paired with my self destructing addiction I have something to look forward to everyday along with my daily caffeine jitters. Your orders help enable my bad habit but they are helping good ones too! When the lanky teenage boys were thanking me, they were also thanking you! Thanks from me too ;)

Now, I'm off to Circle-K, maybe I will see you there.

Hey Becki, could you email me? I know you're really busy, but, I ordered something a while back and haven't received it, plus I won a giveaway and haven't gotten that either. Just wondered if you sent it or are still catching up?

Dr. Pepper and I have had a horribly wonderful love affair for some time now...I have tried to leave him, but alas, I give in to his sweetness. Maybe one day we will officially part ways, but until that day, I allow him to punish me with his bubbly greatness. :)

Awww, such a sweetheart, you are. I think I might do that the next time I'm at Starbucks. That would be my addiction.
