Pirate Booty
Yada yada yada... I know you just wanna know about the goods so I will get to it.
Pirate Booty from the Simmer Town collection is on sale this week for $13.

I thought since it's the week of Halloween and since Pirate Booty has a pirate vibe to it that it would be the perfect loot for this week in celebration of all the festivities. I think Pirate Booty makes a perfect addition to several costumes. Can I get an "Rrrrrgh!"?

What are you going to dress up as for Halloween?

Wild Child
Let me cut straight to the point. Wild Child. It's wild, it's playful, it's only $18. On sale this week only, from the Simmer Town Collection.
This palette is simple and predictable but I think Wild Child should be the statement piece and so I coordinated an outfit that wouldn't compete with the Glamour Band. Love the shoes!
Top - Elle
Ruffle Tank - American Eagle
Pants - Michael Kors
Purse - Karen Millen
Bangle - The Corner
Ring - Asos
Flats - Miu Miu
Platforms - Miu Miu
Shadow - Urban Decay
Lip gloss - Chanel

Whypsy Gypsy
Hello boho beauty! Anyone else in love with everything in the Free People catalog besides me? I want to buy something on just about every page to wear with Whypsy Gypsy which is on SALE this week for only $18, oh by the way. {hello, $5 off!}
I put together another possible palette to go with my Whypsy Gypsy applique which is from the Simmer Town collection and you better believe I would be buying both ensembles if the Mister allowed it. I think it's easy to guess why I named this piece Whypsy Gypsy, the gem tone colors and the gold adornments just beg to be worn with jumbo hoop earrings and lots of fringe don't ya think?
What would you wear with it?

Butter Bean
Butter Bean is from the Gleam & Sugar Collection. Butter Bean was made for the romantic and she absolutely makes you fall in love with her. This week Butter Bean is on sale for $15, which makes the attraction that much stronger. I put together a palette of apparel and accessories that I think will compliment Butter Bean very sweetly. I also think this look would be fun with a pop of color like sea foam earrings!

Sneak Peak
I'm not going to show you a sneak peak of what I have been doing because it's just a big mess of sewing scraps and packaging messes but here is a sneak peak of the work Natalie has been doing for my new site. Gasp! This is a shot of "keeping time of lace". I wanna keep you in suspense so you will just have to wait for the website to see shots of the NEW pieces. It probably goes without saying but I have been working night and day EVERYDAY to get all of my orders caught up as well as prepping for the re-GRAND OPENING of Whippy Cake. I can't wait to get to play with my kids again and to be able to go to bed at the same time as my husband and of course I am excited to show off the new site and products too!
To give thanks to all you patient readers and customers I am doing something I almost NEVER do anymore which is a GIVEAWAY on The Tomkat Studio Blog. Be sure to check her blog today for the giveaway details and see if you can spot Kim wearing one of my 4th of July pieces! And if that isn't enough to make you happy I will also be posting a new BRAID tutorial.
Don't forget that my shop will be closing after tomorrow until the re-grand opening in July!

Tea Time
My sister Missi is in town and we some how managed to get most of the nieces together for some pictures. The fabulous Jessica from Sierra Studios Photography did a beautiful job. She captured the girls in their element being girly and silly. It was a wild ride getting 12 little girls to participate in all the photos but it was so fun to have them all together. I can't wait to show you the group shots later...
See if you can spot the new pieces some of the girls are modeling. I will be listing them in my shop soon!

The Catalyst
Remember that one time long ago when I posted my very first glamour band? It sold out in less than two weeks. I call her the catalyst because she completely changed Whippy Cake for good. I finally got my hands on the discontinued material I use to make her so guess what! She is back in my shop!

New girls on the block...
Say hello to the new girls on the block. Just added these ladies to my ssssssshop! Check it.
This beauty was an accident {hence the name "Oopsie"} but she is probably one of my all time favorites. I can't stop looking at her.
This lacey thing has been requested time and again for baptisms and weddings. Now she no longer needs to be custom ordered because she too is in my shop.
Wife Goes On Vintage Confection
If you shop Matilda Jane you probably have the Cher dress. I get custom order requests all the time for glamour bands to match that darling number. This little lady was born to be worn with the cher dress.

Hissy Fit and other stuff
I have been wanting to post pictures of this piece of work since I made it. I am so in love with this one I threw a hissy fit when it was done (hence the name). I almost thought it was t0o big at first and then I thought "nah! no such thing as too big!". I just listed it in my shop too. So fun!
Hissy Fit
You might just throw a hissy fit too if you win a Vintage Confection on Ucreate who is hosting a giveaway. She is doing a little spotlight on me today so be sure to take advantage and enter the giveaway. {I don't do them very often anymore.} This is one of my top favorite blogs because of all of the seriously awesome tutorials she finds. Absolutely worth blog stalking.
If you have been waiting to hear about which slogan I picked, I finally committed to one! *Applause* It was a rocky process because I was so torn between all of your great ideas but Bret and Kelsey helped me take the plunge. And so I am pleased to share with you the official Whippy Cake slogan...
A Taste of Glam
I really REALLY liked "have your cake and wear it too" and was actually going to modify it to "whippy cake and wear it too" but "a taste of glam" ties into how I picked the name Whippy Cake for my business and I also like how short and sweet it is. I appreciated all of your comments and input and it was fun to see what you all voted for. I think it helped make it easier for me to decide. Now I just need to get the website finalized and ready to launch I had no idea it would take this long. My bad :(
